The North Saskatchewan River isn't Canada's prettiest - deep, full of heavy sediment and very few people around.
Michael has been welcomed and helped by many generous friends, new and old. Pat and Dwight Bergstrom opened their home to him in Prince Albert, SK for the first pit stop
Distant cousins Sharie, Al and Pat Northey (plus others), of the McKenzie clan drove from Regina to Prince Albert for a mini-reunion!

Exiting the North Saskatchewan in The Pas and eating the first carbs in almost 2 weeks!
Un-packing the kayak. A lack of space restricts how much food can be packed - Michael was limited to 1500 calories a day of dried food, supplements and energy bars while burning 5000+!

Sunset over the South Basin of Lake Winnipeg - the weather changed to summer upon entry to Southern Manitoba
We live in a beautiful country!
