Jenni Denniston's journey up Kilimanjaro was given added meaning when she dedicated it to her father, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in early 2010.

A true example of everything that SHLF hopes to represent, Jenni Denniston used the devastating news of her father's diagnosis as a motivation to do something great. With his support, Jenni trained, planned and executed the summiting of Africa's highest peak while single-handedly raising over $9,000 for the cause.

Beyond the details of what Jenni was able to accomplish, her impact on the climb went well beyond raising funds and planning logistics.   Anyone who knows her will agree her relentlessly positive attitude and friendly disposition leave you wondering if anyone could ever NOT love her. To quote fellow climber Kiran Patankar 'she is actually one of those genuinely nice and good people, I kinda forgot they existed.'

Bob Denniston passed away surrounded by his family Sept 14, 2010. In a touching gesture, he has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to SHLF.

To the whole Denniston family - we are truly sorry for your loss.  SHLF is run by an extended family of outstanding people trying to make a  difference in the world. Thank you sincerely for being a glowing example of what we hope represent. Welcome to the family and we promise to do our utmost to honour your beneficence.
