The UBC Thunderbirds recently unveiled the Strachan Hartley Memorial Trophy to be awarded annually to the UBC football player who has demonstrated athletic and academic excellence, leadership and community endeavours.

The trophy was created to recognize Strachan's on-field success and the opportunities that his legacy is providing to under-privileged youth. The 2011 Vanier Cup Championship Breakfast was chosen as the opportunity to unveil the trophy.

"As a member and leader of the 1997 UBC Thunderbird Vanier Cup championship team, Strachan has an eternal link to the Thunderbirds and to Canadian football in general."

SHLF and the Hartley family are proud to be recognized by the Thunderbirds and will do our best to represent the Trophy and its winners well.
